Online Privacy Policy

Flow Simulation Ltd. (the owner of this website) is committed to respecting your online privacy and understand your need for appropriate protection and management of any personal information you share with us. We do not make any information we obtain as a result of your using this site available to third parties or sell it or trade lists with other companies. Flow Simulation Ltd. is the sole owner of any information collected. Any information you supply to us is used only for the purpose indicated. We take all reasonable precautions to protect the information you supply to us from unauthorized access or disclosure. Though we would make every effort to preserve user privacy, we might have to disclose personal information by law if we were ever required to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order or legal process served on us, heaven forbid.

We do not require you to "log in", register or supply information to us in order to use this web site. We do not use browser visitor tracking devices where we do evil things like figure out what other sites you have visited and otherwise snoop around in your private stuff. If you use the site to register software or make a purchase then of course we will need to collect contact information from you which enables us to keep you informed about updates to our products. We don’t bombard you with this kind of information, in fact if anything people have complained that we don’t contact them enough, so in our case this is probably a non-issue.

We do not use unsolicited bulk email, and we don’t use sneaky tricks like links embedded in emails to see if you read them and that kind of thing. You can ask us to remove your email by sending a reply with UNSUBSCRIBE in the mail subject line. Don’t forget that email ‘from’ addresses are very easy to forge – just because a message has a ‘from’ address that is one of our domains doesn’t necessarily mean that we sent it.

If you use the site to place an order directly with us, (as opposed to through an external site such as Amazon.com, SWReg, etc.), we will collect contact information (e.g. name, email and shipping address) in order to be able to fulfil the order and financial information (e.g. credit card number and expiry date) for billing purposes. We may use an outside shipping company to ship orders, and a credit card processing company for billing. These companies have assured us that they do not share information with other parties or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes without your permission.

Like most web sites, our web servers log IP addresses, browser and platform type, date and time, and referring pages (but not your identity) for the purpose of overall statistical analysis of web site usage patterns. From time to time we also use tracking mechanisms such as Google Analytics in order to collect statistical data about visits to our site. It’s not personal, it’s just so we can figure out what we are doing wrong.

We occasionally use third-party advertising companies to serve advertisements when you visit our websites. Companies like Google may use information (which they tell us does not include personal information) about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. More information about this practice and your choices about how this information is used can be found on Google's website.

Apparently, some new European laws require that we obtain your consent before we use cookies and so forth and give you a mechanism to control our use of cookies. We don't use cookies or do any bad stuff, but we do have Google ads on a few pages so we can make a bit more money. Google do state that they comply with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations), but apart from that we can’t really guarantee that they aren’t somehow sharing information about your use of our site with their social media, advertising and analytics partners in order to personalise their ads. So, we have come up with the following innovative cookie control mechanism: if you want to ensure that doesn't happen you're going to have to stop using our site (along with most of the rest of the Internet, unfortunately). Sorry about that.

Did we mention that we do not use unsolicited bulk email? That’s right, we won’t spam you. Not even to tell you about GDPR and how we are compliant with it and aren’t we great, because that would be a bit like spamming people in itself.

Under GDPR you have the right to view, amend or delete the personal information that we hold. You can email a request to our data protection officer info@flosim.com. This privacy policy was last reviewed on 30th April, 2020.
